We’d like to welcome Steven J. Arentz as the newest addition to the House Republican Caucus! Arentz was appointed by Governor O’Malley to fill the vacant seat from District 36 on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Arentz was the President on the Queen Anne’s County Commissioners where he was elected to his first term in 2010. Arentz is a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and studied at Allegheny Community College in Pittsburgh and Newbury Junior College in Massachusetts. He moved to Queen Anne’s County 14 years ago and he and his wife Biana owned and operated Hemingway’s Restaurant on Kent Island and are both realtors with Long and Foster Real Estate of Kent Island. Arentz has served as chairman and secretary for the Queen Anne’s County Economic Development Commission and is former chair of Queen Anne’s County Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife live in Grasonville with their two children who attend Queen Anne’s County public schools.
